Changes made to AdSense terms for international publishers

the tax issue revisited

AdSense updated their terms (without prompting publishers to agree to them), although it is a minor change.

Previously, for non-US taxpayers, the language referred to having a US presence. Now, instead of presence, they refer to it as US Activities.

Interesting the change from presence to Activities - perhaps this was due to the overwhelming confusion of what constituted a presence. And they do make reference to their tax information page, which will allow people to easily find the information regarding what form needs to be filled out. I can only imagine the volume of emails they received from international publishers because of this issue.

I live in Asia, and has already signed Adsense non-us w8 whatever form confirming that I'm not a US taxpayer. I have yet to receive my Oct. cheque. Do you think the new term has anything to do with it?

There are still many waiting for their October earnings check. Check here [webmasterworld.com] to see if anyone has reported receiving them in Asia yet.

irock, if your check was being held, it wouldn't be listed as Sent in your account. Checks were still being mailed just 3 days ago, so you probably won't receive yours until next week.
