How to tell how much an ad pays

I always see posts that lead me to believe there is a way to see what certain ads pay. Is this possible? I have channels set up so I know what page is getting the hits but I have no way of knowing which ad they clicked on.
Am I wishing for the impossible?

I think you are wishing for the impossible. I was under the impression that you couldn't tell...which in the long run is a good thing (for advertisers).

The only way to know is doing some click tracking and manually comparing it to the adsense epc as it comes in.
Very labor intensive and only accurate at low volumes, ie once you start getting lots of clicks you never see single clicks coming in to see what the change was :(

There isn't a way to tell this. You might be able to get an inkling if you use a tracker and are lucky enough to catch one single click during the time it takes the tracker to update, and Google to update. However, if this happens it's likely to be at some strange time of day, and it may be that clicks from an advertiser vary in earnings depending on time of day.

I wouldn't even bother trying to work out what a click pays you.
