Email from Google says that support and ads are now available in 5 languages, and can be put on French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish language pages.

I'm amazed this wasn't posted here already.

Good thing, or bad thing?

They are now accepting new applications for sites in these languages. All support documents will also be available in these languages as well, including the FAQ, Policies and Terms.

You can now also receive support in any of these languages, using special language specific AdSense email addresses.

A great addition to AdSense.

<added>I took the time to check to see if they had the relevant documentation online yet, so I could link to it ;) </added>

For existing publishers, only Japanese is truly new.

When I saw the email from Google, my heart started to pound: did they add Dutch?

Nope. :-(

Sweet! I'm so glad these other languages are available.

Hey, how nice is it to come in for a "woohoo, go Google!" post and have it be my 2000th post! :)

Go, GG. It has always been a pleasure reading your posts.

It would be very hard for other competitors to penetrate this content advertising market now, though content advertising is in starting stages. Google now has a robust system in place. Google as usual, is ahead of the game.

Well, there's always room for improvement, for example: bring on more languages! (even if Google's support for these new languages would be still in English)

yeah, but get this.

they now support Italian but you still can't join AdSense if you live in Italy due to taxation reasons. So you are still OK if you live in, err, about one third of Switzerland and speak Italian.

But you can receive checks elsewhere. Thankfully!
