how do I allow adsense bots in protected forums?

I use phpbb to host a forum, some of the forums are set to registered users only (for both read and post). after this change I am no longer seeing targetted ads from adsense, presumably because googlebot can't get through the login page?

what can I do to avoid this?

create a user account for the google bot and pass that info over to G.

You may have to edit your .httaccess file.

I thought it is agaianst the TOS to put adsense code into password required pages.
