Putting google.com into competitive filter list?

This morning I started noticing to my dismay that a lot of the pages at my site are suddenly displaying these big ugly "MAKE MONEY WITH ADSENSE" ads in my 336 x 280 ad formats. They're the kind of ads that take up the whole ad block so, it is my understanding that these are CPM ads as opposed to pay-per-click. Quite frankly, I don't want these ads anywhere on my site and I was just wondering about the implications of putting google.com in my competitive filter list. (*chuckle*) No but seriously, I don't want these ads. They're big, ugly, obtrusive and they probably pay next to nothing.

As you've noticed, Google does occasionally run its own advertising campaigns using AdWords.

If you see ads for Google products, rest assured that these ads still have to compete in the same auction as every other AdWords ad, and they should only appear on your site if they represent the highest revenue potential for that particular ad unit at that moment in time.

So itīs like, Google has it own Adwords account, and eh... then Google Advertises with Google, and eh... they pay their Adwords bill to eh... Google. I have an idea, why don't Google also opens an Adsense account.
So that if Google manages to get traffic by running ads at Google Adwords, the Google website also shows Google Adsense Ads in order to make money from Google so that Google can compensate the money they paid to Google Adwords for running their Google Adsense ads on the Google Adwords network. Or, whatever...

HB, fortunately Google isn't being operated like Enron. lol

LittleGiant, do not block it. Google's own ads are still paid ads, not free public service ads.

Fact:-

Google's algorithm replaces well paying ads from retailers trying to sell goods and services with very low paying MFA's that are purely out to scam, and have nothing to sell.

With this in mind, I have extreme difficulty believing that Google is paying us more to advertise it's own services on it's own program than even the MFA's they love to replace real ads with. Especially as they are removing ALL OTHER ads from the block to show just theirs.

I personally would bin them because they are not relevant to my site, and quite honestly I really can't see how their ad would pay me any more than an MFA would. However, I stress that this is what I personally would do and is not intended as advice.

Yes, they do. They shows AdSense ads on their SERPs with special treatments such as no smart pricing, 100% payout, 10-ad unit, all ads in pool, etc. Hope I can have these treatments.

I just heard a rumor that Google apparently owns Adsense and Adwords and may or may not be using them to make a profit and drive up share prices. Anyone else heard this? What should we do!? What happens if they ban themselves for invalid clicks?

I've noticed Google is on a spree lately. I've always had Google advertising for AS on my site since a lot of my keywords concern advertising. But this past week the AdSense ad always seems to be in the top block kicking out one of my regular high paying ads on a completely different topic. Revenues are up to all time highs. I'd suggest to wait and see what these ads do for your bottom line before scrapping them.

What amuses me is when I see Yahoo advertising using google adsense.

When I've seen google ads (for the firefox browser) on my site, the ads seem to pay well, and as it's a trusted brand, the users do click on the ad.
