Is it OK to change colour code of background color on the Adsense codes by manually altering the codes to the correct clour code without copying and pasting again from the Google Account Management? From what I see, the end result is excatly what I desire but I wonder if that is ok in terms of registering the clicks. I need to change the color of many many ads placements to a particular background color, so if I can do it manually it will be much easier than copying and pasting again from account management.
Note: I understand that Google TOS advise against alterations of codes but i thought that the spirit of that rule applies only to altering it in a deceptive manner.
Thanks
You will hear from both sides on this issue some do it and some warn against it. Your best bet would be to get confirmation from Adsense and let us know if you get a response.
If anybody disagree, please let me or those of us in this camp know. Thanks a lot. If it is really not allowable, then i guess I will have to change them using the tool box again. No big deal but just want to make sure as it is quite a lot of work.
You seem to have already read both camp's viewpoints on this (both saying it's OK and saying it's agains the rules) and have decided to do it anyway.
If you want to know for sure (and care), then ask Google.
If you don't want to hear the answer (if they say don't do it), then just keep doing what you're doing. Some say they've done it since day one and haven't had a problem.
I wouldn't do it since I don't mess with the adcolors that much, so it's just as easy for me to use their online interface and paste the hex codes I need there so I'm still getting the generated code from the Google interface that I don't have to alter.
