Which gives better revenue

espotting or adsense?

Anyone have any experience to compare adsense and espotting ad revenues?

I'm thinking of getting espotting going, but not sure its worth the time embedding.

More feedback please guys. We generate significant clicks on espotting and are finalising our contract...Espotting insist on exclustivity.......we would like to run the 2 on the same sites.

So what are the ratios? How much more does adsenses pay out incomparison?

But i can add that google does not guarantee any CPC percentage, and revenue can vary a lot depending on the site and size. Many expect that google is giving far more at launch to get critical mass before lowering payments as a percentage of clicks delivered. Also as more publishers sign on there is more competition for publishers maybe reflected in lower CTR and other aspects as time goes on.

Adsense is a great program for certain publishers, but it hasnt been going long enough yet for anyone to make reliable predictions of revenue medium to long term.

Is this "exclusivity" a new policy for Espotting? is it for your site as a whole, all sites you own, or by the page? I can imagine that many ad servers and affiliate managers will have to come up with some new ways to compete against the new google ad network if google can keep their commissions substantially higher than them.

Im expecting quite a big shakeout in the ad networks/affiliate area, same as google caused in the SE area several years back. This time though i dont think competing networks can afford to let their customer base run down, so they must come up with some innovative or more lucrative offers for publishers pretty soon. If I was them i wouldnt be waiting for Adsense to start reducing revenues to publishers, as every adsense ad contains an ad for advertisers to use Adwords, and this will drive up ad costs to advertisers as well, allowing publishers to maintain revenue.

Epotting want exclusivity on a site by site basis and they list companies that we can do similar deal with and they include the top 20 ppc companies. Until adsense appeared we had no issues as no one else would give us the deal we wanted.....now the rules have changed

I agree with Chiyo here.

Rates are varying, click throughs are varying. It is part of the start up confusion. If you look at how bidding works, then you can see as you get to niche markets that with a limited number of advertisers on limited budgets, then rates vary hourly at the best of times.

A previous post by europeforvisitors showed how for a reasonable number of impressions per day (10,000 plus) that some, but not all of the perturbations are ironed out.

Afraid the bottom line is that adsense appears to be working right now, better than other programs. But nobody has any idea what the picture will be next month, let alone next year.

I have a day job running my own business, a night job writing Internet sites for other businesses. Currently Adsense tempts me to give up the night job ;)
