sites totally and outrageously violating TOS

I know few sites that are totally violating google adsense TOS and even after notifying google... the violations are still going on and no action? Why? How long does it take for google to take action against violators?

It has been over 3 weeks now that google was notified...received response from google in about 1 or two days that action would be taken.

Google has amazing employees and has scored many many big product victories. They deserve big kudos on many fronts.

But on Adsense matters, their policies leave much to be desired. Content-less sites proliferate. Clear violators of their terms of service continue to show ads even after being reported.

It seems pretty clear that Google has little concern for having spawned an onslaught of web sites of no consequence and no value to anybody but the creator.

They should change their motto from "Do no evil" to "Do good". It might do us all some good.

I know, their response time is awesome!

But 3,4 weeks have passed and no action... these sites should have been banned by now if they were sent warnings or whatever and no action was taken from website owner's side.

How about sending the offender a friendly email and explain that they are braking the rules. Not everyone read forums such as this one and simply don't know they are braking the TOS.

I did that when I saw a guy in my niche asking people to click on ads to help support his site. I told him adsense could pull his account for that. He had no clue it was not allowed and happy I emailed him.

A compromise to taking weeks to ban violating sites would be to allow the competitive ad filter to 1000 sites.

I had reported a site with something like

"Please visit all our competitors to see that we are the best"

just above a leader bord.

After 10 days, the text was changed to something like

"Call us and talk about our offer"

How long does it take for google to take action against violators?

In my experience it takes approximately 6 weeks for AS to act.

There are two types of threads in this forum about the AdSense T&C. The first is like this one here: "there are many sites violating the terms and Google ignores them". The second type is "I was banned from AdSense but I didn't do anything".

As long as the number of threads of each type are about the same, I think Google actually does a pretty good job in guarding the T&C. Not everyone accidentally doing something wrong should be kicked out the system immediately. Nor is there any reason for Google to react immediately on reported violations if according to their stats the violation itself doesn't generate a large amount of money for the publisher.

AdSense T&C are not clear on a number of points and I think this is how Google wants it. It gives them the freedom when examining a site and its stats to take more into account than just the text of the T&C. Some activities are prohibited in the English version of the T&C but not in the Dutch version. I informed AdSense many months ago about this difference but they didn't change it, so I guess it is intentionally. If they want to have the freedom to interpret the T&C depending on the situation, it is very difficult for us outsiders to define when something is a "outrageous AdSense violation" and when it isn't.

I agree; there's no way to tell from our perspective exactly how bad the problem is. Only Google knows, and for all we know it might cut only 0.5% out of their revenues.

MFA sites are Google's problem AFAIC, and I personally wouldn't worry about it.
