2. how's google paying for adlinks clicks? do they pay for click on the ad or only for clicking on link into search results?
3. how's the ratio publisher:google when we are talking about revenues? 50:50 or something better?
thanks a lot for replies...
1. how does google choose which ads to show when there are more ads relevant to your page and keywords? does it show these with biggest revenue or just select randomly some of them?
Further to the previous reply, Google DOES NOT give the ad space to the highest bidder. That is an extremely common misconception, and the reason many people don't block MFA's. Many people think the reason ads (including MFA's) are shown is because they are the highest bidder. Incorrect.
Adsense obviously tries to target ads to the keywords on your page, but ultimately gives the space to whoever adsense thinks will offer the best return amongst the ads it thinks are relevant. The data it uses in ad placement is not from your site, but from the Google network in general. Therefore if Google thinks an ad for new and used dead donkeys is going to get you more money (based on data generally - not your site) that's who they will show, even if it means dumping a good paying ad that works well on your site.
Targeting is generally OK, but you should watch what ads show and consider dumping ads that are not directly selling products or services. You might like to browse some of the threads that discuss blocking before embarking on doing it big time.

They pay when your visitor clicks through to an advertiser - not when they click through to the topic.

Nobody knows, but overall it's believed it's about 70% that goes to publishers based on Google's anual reports. Google will never reveal this directly. However, it may be that percentage is raised or lowered depending on how it rates your traffic and a million and one other things. I would say that adsense pays me at least 20 times the amount I get from Fastclick, so whatever the payout percentage is has never been a concern of mine.
I think the main thing I found out was that I'm not very good at writing ad copy, and that in order for arbitrage to work you have to delete all of that nasty content stuff from your site that lessens the impact of the ads:)
The truth is that both adsense and adwords costs / payouts vary so much that it's not possible to work out Google's percentage from this information.
