Monetizing an ODP Clone with AdSense

Do you think that if i put the odp (dmoz) directory on my website i can make more money. Any publishers have an experience with Adsense + ODP?

It's more about traffic than anything else, and the ODP won't help you get traffic. About 50,000 sites already have the same information online.

I disagree. Many search engines (like google) treat Dmoz.org like a god, and getting listed there not only gets you into Google directory (and many otehrs) but also gives your pr a nice boost (as many of Dmoz.org's pages are high pr).

You don't get any traffic from Dmoz directly, but it influences many things positively.

The topic question is not whether to get a listing in ODP, is it? Isn't it rather about whether to put am ODP clone on the site itself? They're two different things entirely.

to be more clear, it'a a question about using ODP data (RDF dump ) and not a clone

I am using one large category from dmoz (about 80,000 sites) and I make about $80 per day from the dmoz directory pages. BUT, I was already established with my own directory before I added the dmoz.

you shall be bogged down due to duplicate content penalty in next update. Till that you may earn. The downside is that even if you have genuine content, its percentage wud be far less and google wud penalize the whole site in serps.

nothing pays as orignal content, no matter how bad it is, it has to be orignal. no copy. no fetching . no nothin ..

remmeber, there are no shortcuts to success, and even if there are a few, they cut short the success itself.

I have pages (modified data from ODP and very different format) that bring a lot of traffic. They are also ranked well above the corresponding ODP page.

How much is a lot of traffic?

When times are good I'll average 6-10k uniques a day for those pages. Probably about 400 pages with ODP data are used.

interesting, i never thought about that, as all content on my site is original. how can you use odp? is there a help page i can check out? (I can always use more traffic)
