I wasn't even running ads when it happened. The best guess I can make is that my girlfriend applied for an account using our home address ie. the same address as me. Seems a bit harsh to me, but like I say, it's about all I can think of.
That original thread is here [webmasterworld.com].
Anyway, I posted a letter to the Googleplex politely explaining how it was a shock to be banned, I had no idea why this had happened, offering any information I thought might help, could they please check because I think a mistake had been made, et cetera.
I sent it international signed-for (from the UK) so it should have arrived by now. But so far, no response.
I'm really gutted by this whole thing. It looks like I might not get any sort of response- in which case I don't know what to do next. I just feel like I have to do something.
I realise that at the end of the day, it's Google's gig and they run the show. I fully accept that. And of course, the TOS states that they can suspend anyone at any time for any reason. I accept that too. If they had contacted me and said 'Actually we've looked at your site recently and we're dropping it because it's too small/it does generate enough clicks, or whatever- I could accept that... I might not like it but I could accept it. But to be told that my account has been associated with basically a fraudulent one when I'm certain that can't be the case- that's hard to take.
I'm really disillusioned. :(
The domain wasn't bought second hand. I have no idea how my account had been 'related to' a previously suspended one... that's the point.
I had had the account for about 2 years. Then one day- bang, it's gone. This happened the same week my girlfriend applied and was rejected. But why would I get banned for that. That seems pretty harsh.

You're probably right- I should just forget about it and stop whining. But every time I come across a low quality/borderline spam site or a dead page with no content... with a big block of Adsense ads... it just doesn't seem fair.
And then you hear about people trying to sneak back in, get another account with different details etc. I'm not into that- I'd rather stick to the rules. But all I get for that is a ban, no real explanation and no reply.
