I run Adsense on my own website for 2 months now and I'm very happy with it. Now I wanted to put the code on someone elses website. (He aggreed by the way)

It is a forum about a particular subject, but I learned by reading this forum that it wouldn't have to be a problem. Forums are allowed to run the Adsense codes.

Anyone else have the experience of putting codes on other websites?
What have you done to make it legal?
The problem is that I don't want to be kicked out of Adsense programm for doing illegal things.

I am not an authority on the subject but from what I understand you can place the code on as many websites as you want. Google will then check the sites and display the right ads.

Might be a bit different if one of the websites is not yours. You might want to contact Google on that one.

As long as the content is good and the site does not go against the TOS I think you should be safe. Worst case, Google will not allow you to place YOUR code on Someone's Website, just have the other website register their own account unless you want a share of the rev. ;)

I hope this helps.

What have you done to make it legal?

If you have the permission of the other site's owner then that alone makes it legal. The real issue is one of control over content, and control over the site, which will end up affecting your whole account.

Some examples:

The site is a forum and visitors start threads about Google adsense and how by clicking on the ads, they give money to their friend running the site. Bad news!

Undesirable content within the site or breaking of the rules, such as a "please click here to make us $$$" Bad news!

It is all about control, how actively your friend manages his site, and how much trust you have in him or his abilities.

Forums are allowed to run the Adsense codes.

Forums ARE allowed to run AdSense, they just cannot be placed on the internal search result pages (although rumour has it that you may be able to place AdSense on internal search pages now.)

You do have to have permission to run AdSense on a site you do not own, and AdSense may be sticky about this. And if you get suspended for any reason, your friend will have his URL blocked from running AdSense.

And I agree with loanuniverse. If you don't have control over what people may be posting abot the AdSense ads, you could definitely run afoul of the Terms/Faq/Policies and get your account suspended.

loanuniverse, that's worth thinking about!
I really don't have any control over the text appearing on the forum!

And it's not worth trying because I have a good running site myself and don't want to be kicked out :-P

although it is "legal" I would advise you not to do it!
I was trying it and in long term it is not working out!

if you want to do it then you must have really total control over placing and removing these ads - one solution for it is including (in PHP) external HTML pages that include code for your adsense.

don't do it!

How are you going to divide the income, when you don't know how much site A gets from site B? Until G modifies the reporting feature to include revenue by domain, you will have no way of assuming the revenue for your site and your friend's site.

I believe so Jetty can earn the revenue, not the friend who owns the site.

Yes Jenstar, that's right, I earn the money.
But reading all of your replies makes me awake.
I don't do it.
The site is not in my hands and I don't want to be kicked out.
The other reason is that I cannot devide the income from my own site and the ohter site (yet).

Thanx everyone for answering my questions and protecting me for being banned.

Jettie: just let your friend apply for an account... he's site has to be 'accepted' / would be reviewed by google anyways sooner or later
