Has Anyone Tried AdSense Referrals?

I just noticed Adsense Referals option. Has anyone given this a try?

Seems to me that it would not be aseffective as regular adsense adverts, as you don't get paid until, for example someone downloads firefox via your link and launches it.

I wonder what everyones actual experiences are with referals?

i had decided NOT to use this option. who knows someone who is refered by you gets banned and u get banned as a related account.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember something about no credit unless the account has $100 worth of referrals in 90 days of sign-up.

Heh. After seeing you post this, I went to check. Sure enough, it says that on the page where you get the codes. They're slick. There's no mention of the 90 day clause on the FAQ page, only at the bottom of all the different graphics to choose from.

What ticks me off about referrals is that when AdSense started I told a few people about it. One of which I know makes more than I do - a lot more. As far as I'm concerned referrals came way too late.

Hmm... the limitation is 180 days now.
I gave up the referal program, either.
