Wrong Ads Pulled from Domain instead of Folder the Page is On

I am trying to get a feel on whether people consider a domain to be a website or if an individual folder in that domain can be a website, if it is unique and a seperate topic from the main domain. I have my main site at www.widget.com and yet have websites nested inside that domain that have nothing to do with the main site. Would you consider these to be seperate websites?

This relates to adsense in that sometimes for new folders in the domain that have nothing to do with the domain will pull ads for the domain instead of for the topic.

Generally speaking people usually only consider a folder within a domain to be a "seperate website" if the folder is in a subdomain form such as folder.site .com .
As for the question regarding adsense ads, I have noticed that on unrelated subdomains or folders within my main domain that initially the ads will often be relevant to the topic of my main domain. Once the pages are crawled by the adsense bot they are more targetted. Hope that answers your question.

If adsense can't figure out the right ads for a particular page or subfolder, they will often show "themed" ads based on the main domain name's content.

Why was the title changed? My main question was what people consider to be a true website, not why wrong ads are pulled. I know that adsense pulls ads for subfolders based on the domains ads until the spider comes crawling...

Censorship when none is needed. =/
