Age limits on Google Adsensers

Thinking about a new college savings plan for my kids?

I've been teaching my 11 and 9 year old about HTML and other web stuff. They both have sites that will get better over time as they learn more.

Does anybody know if there's an age limit on Adsense?

I was thinking about signing them up for Adsense and having the money go into a savings account for college.

I'm guessing they'll only make a few $$ per day max but that will add up over time.

Thanks! I'm sorry I'm being lazy on this - I should just look it up myself.

18 as far as I know. It's better if you'd just open an account for yourself, stick the code on their sites, and cash out the checks to their accounts yourself.

Setup a Trust for your kids and have the Trust (a legal entity) signup for AdSense. The income flows into the Trust to hold for the kids until they reach 18 (or whatever other age). Consult with your tax advisor/lawyer about exactly how to structure the trust to take maximum advantage of tax laws regarding funds saved/used for education.

The Trust would have to be the actual owner of the web sites, but it could also pay the kids for doing the work to develop the sites. Again, consult your tax advisor for specifics of how to setup things.
