I bumped into this post about how you can track adsense with google analytics.

Not sure if I can post link to sites here but... <snip>

Anyway,I was wondring if this is ok to do or does it violate Googles TOS?

And another question...are there any other adsense trackers out there, preferably free?
The kind that will show you more info than theAdsnese CP itself.
I found one called "Adsense gold" but you have to pay for it and it comes with a whole bunch of stuff I don't want, like ready-made articles (which I personally think are lame).

Not to say what I consider is the obvious, but why would Google allow you to track adsense with analytics in the first place if it would violate the TOS?

That's like telling you not to encourage users to click ads yet provide tips on how to make ads look exactly like regular content.

When I received a call about participating in the rich media ads program in January, the person on the line asked me if I would be willing to include analytics on my site whenever I ran a campaign so I could view the click through.

From the government request for data from Google that they are fighting, it is obvious that Google is retaining, compiling and analyzing all data they receive on everyone and everything online. Google Anlyitics is just too much "Big Brother" for me to even consider putting it on my websites.

Mr_Fern: it's not a built in feature. It requires another script.

The way the tracking with analytics works is the same way that other click tracking scripts work, except they sent to analytics not some php script.
