How long did it take for your first $1 day?

and how much traffic did it take?

i'm sure this has been asked before, in one form or another - but i'm going to ask it again.. for a 'fresh' perspective.

The question:
How long did it take you to reach steady (or semi-steady) $1 days? and.. how much of that was due to Google-generated search traffic?

My site has barely been up for 1 month, only just got all (most) pages indexed by Google a few days ago.. but so far my total Google-search traffic has been 2 visitors. I'm not complaining - i know it will take months (while i keep adding content). i'm just curious how long it too for some of the other members..
?

I don't get much traffic from Google.

I pay for my traffic (Adwords) plus most of my visitors are repeat visitors who come back to check news, check their e-mail accounts etc.

Ask yourself: If you can't reach $1/day, then what can you do to increase value of your website? For example, you need targeted/repeat traffic, you need rich content, you need good website design, optional services that will please your visitors, etc.

Don't give up.

Give up?!
I'm just starting! and doing all the things i need to do (that i've learned here, mostly) - and i know it will take more time..

I just want to see what others experiences have been..

Well my plan was to hit the ground running so I didn't put up AdSense until I had a descent amount of traffic. Afterwards it went right to $2-3 per day.

got it for almost 1 1/2 months, the time that I wrote an article which most people are looking up to.

I joined AdSense on an existing site in Oct. 2003, and was almost immediately averaging about $10/day. I was stunned. So I went right past $1 a day.

This was on a site that previously earned $3 or $4 a day from affiliate programs.

Traffic then was probably around 1,000 unique visitors/day.

My main site was already established with niche traffic. We made $10 or $15 the first day I think.

I've never had a $1 day:) I earned $6.32 on my first day back in January 2004, and has been steadily moving in the right direction since.

I made $1 my first day on a brand new site. I then had to wait a month for my next $1 day.

I started with a brand new site in January last year with no experience at all. (Apart from what I had learnt here). With no advertising or promotion other than adding to Directories.

My earnings looked like this:

February - $ 3.50
March - $ 8.42
April - $ 25.88
May - $ 72.59
June - $143.86
It sort of stagnated here, I moved house and couldn't get an internet connection for about 6 months. Traffic took a hit.

So, about 3 months to get to the $1 a day mark,

Good question. As of day one. Even for a small time Adsenser like myself that wat easy. So go for it!

It dropped to about $120 in July and stagnated at about the $110 - $120 mark for the next few months.

I've finally got a new internet connection (dial up) so I am able to update more regularly now. Traffic is increasing so I expect it to start growing again.... I hope

Yesterday, exactly one month since the start of my site, I hit the $1 mark. Google SERPs have been a huge part of my traffic.

Jan 14th - 45 impressions/day - Release day
Jan 25th - 130 impressions/day - After some self-promotion
Feb 5th - 1,000 impressions/day - Main page gets in Google SERPS
Feb 14th - 10,000 impressions/day - About 50 of my pages join the Google SERPs

Google SERPs are perhaps making up too much of the traffic. Now I just need to figure out how to raise my CTR, heh.

Geeze.. I must have the wrong topic on my site! But i have to stick with it, because it's all i know.. unfortunately, it does have a lot of competition..

i guess i need to fine-tune my keywords.. i'm getting virtually NO search traffic..
