Adsense for Search

Has anyone had much success with this?

I've had good results with regular Adsense, however...

I just put "Adsense for Search" on one of my sites, and the first 5 recorded clicks (out of 15 impressions) yielded $0.00

Has anbody had success with AFS, or is this typical?

I get about a dollar a day from it, nothing major, but I wanted a search option on my site anyway.

I do find that the clickthrough rate can be extraordinarly high, although the PPC is lower than I would have expected. Especially seeing as the person was searching for that term and is actively looking for something.

My experience has been like that of marcel and yours. But every now and then I will make more from search than context ads.

It works fine for me. High CTR, high EPC, high eCPM. Low total earnings, though, since my few of my readers use internal search.

As long as I'm going to have search anyway, I might as well use the search tool that my readers are most familiar with (Google), and as long as I'm going to do that, I might as well earn some money from it.

I did not have much luck with the search box, made only a few pennies per day on average, after removing them from about 200 pages, earnings from adsense for content went up a somewhat.

I earn between 2 to 3 bucks per day using it on 3 of my most popular sites. It seems to have a rather low CTR as most visitors use it for searching within the site.
