Hi, I m a bangladeshi and have a website where i run google ads. I received my first cheque from google adsense two weeks ago. But i don't know how to encash this cheque. I have a saving account with dutch-bangla bank. Do i diposit the cheque to my account? I think in that case bank may take a charge. Or, is it possible to deposit adsense cheque directly to CitiBank NA Bangladesh branch and encash the cheque without paying any charges? But I have no account with CitiBank NA.

Which procedure you use to encash the cheque? Please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

If it's payable to you they will.

Oh believe me the bank will charge - banks love to charge their customers - especially as it's a foreign currency cheque.

Based on my experience with UK banks you have to have an account with the bank and all banks will charge you pretty similar amounts.

But I have no account with CitiBank NA.

Here you have a choice between collection or negotiation (which is cheaper depends on your own bank's charging policy). Negotiation means they pay you the money upfront and clear it the day you pay it in - however if the cheque doesn't clear for whatever reason they'd take the amount of it out of your account. Collection is where they wait for the cheque to go back to America and to hear back from Google's bank that it wasn't stolen etc before they pay you. The downside to this is it'll probably be anywhere between a month and six months before you see the money. The alternative is EFT (eg Google pay straight into your bank account avoiding all these problems) - but I'm not sure if it's available in India. The help pages on Google Adsense or a quick email to Google Adsense support should answer that question for you (or maybe someone on these boards from India will answer).

If your currency is supported by Google, have them send it in your currency, not in USD. In this case, any bank where you have an account at would be able to cash it as a regular check. Tell them that they can, if the cashier has no idea. Also, Call Citibank and request phone number of someone who has knowledge about Google checks. Then you can give this number to other banks in case they fail to know what to do.

Openning an account at Citibank is costly and wouldn't worth just for cashing checks.

1.You must have an account with the bank you want to cash the cheque. All google cheque are Account payee.

2.if your cheque is in local currency and you deposit in same city where an City Bank Branch is located,No charges applied.1 to 3 days to clear the cheque.

3.if your check is in local currency and you deposit in a different city than City Bank Branch is located,a very minimum charges are applied.Like some 1 or 2$ but it takes 3-10 days to clear the cheque.

4.if your cheque is in USD a good ammount is charged and it takes about 4-6 weeks to clear the check. They wil charge you about 10 USD.
