I would display Ads in the right column of my results page (just like google does) -and- possibly have the ads interspersed with the search results that I provide my searchers? Obviously it would be clear they are sponsored ads... I am not trying to be deceptive.
Do I have to use the image-based text ads that AdSense generates or can I somehow get the HTML for the ads and place them myself?
Your thoughts? If anyone is interested in consulting with me on this, let me know.
Thanks,
g
The question you ask is a dynamic programming task that many webmasters use to generate targeted Adsense ads. The Adsense algorithm is initiated by a Javascript function that you copy into your static or dynamic webpages.
For example, if you're creating dynamic webpages using ASP calls to an Access or SQL database, the Google Adsense algorithm will match ads to the dynamic content created from your ASP pages.
You can only use Google's Adsense code which is generated through your Adsense account, to place on static or dynamic pages.
Not sure if that answered your question, but post again if it didn't.
"Any AdSense ad code, search box code, or referral code must be pasted directly into Web pages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the ad code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason."
It sounds like your suggestion goes against their policy... doesn't it?
