As touched on a couple of weeks ago I've checked through my Adlinks analysis and the results are:
Overall earnings through Adlinks 56.38%
Amongst my smaller niche sites the Adlinks earnings varied between 58.25% and an incredible 74.1% on one specific site which earns very nicely thank you.
Althought specific CTR's are not allowed, let's say I have a couple of these niche sites +/-30%.
Now just what could the team come up with to rival such good figures?
I have been gradually adding adlink units on my pages. They have increased my earnings but not as much as they have for you.
I can't tell for sure why my earnings have increased as I've had increased traffic as well. I suppose I could go into my stats and calculate it out.
Was your traffic a lot higher too or does it seem to be mostly the link units?
The AdLinks are very good earners for us -- amounting to more than 10 percent of total AdSense revenue. In fact, with just a little bit of space on the page, the AdLinks generate about half as much as all the big sloppy banners from the ad networks.
I have YPN and ContextWeb running on a couple of smaller sections just to keep an eye on how they perform. YPN's CPM is still weaker than Google's (for me, anyway) and the lack of an AdLink type of product is a big drawback.

My traffic was proportionately higher just like yours and I don't have any idea as to why either other than to say that our bricks and mortar business is extremely busy too for this time of year.
My Adlinks have always done well however my hypothesis is that the increase is my visitors are surfing Adlinks results as part of their regular behaviour.
The ads are very well targeted and I'm pretty sure that the/my average visitor is now very confident with using them.
This is especially noticeable with the smaller specific niche sites compared to the larger and more generalised, still the same niche though, core sites.
Over all, link units (Adlinks) provided 49% of the income.
OptiRex, could I ask a question about your use of Link units? Which have you found more effective: the vertical 120 or 160 lists, or the horizontal 468 and/or 728?
Thanks

Lots of folks have already started this discussion[webmasterworld.com...]
That is quite a separate discussion, this is about the use of Adlinks and general earnings for January.
Which have you found more effective: the vertical 120 or 160 lists, or the horizontal 468 and/or 728?For me definitely the 160 x 90 with 5 links. We have tried variations of the horizontal on other sites and they just didn't work for us.
The Adlink is placed at the right angle of the inverted L navigation bang in the hot spot.
Adlinks is different from the traditional google ads? If so, how do you sign up to them?google.com/adsense/code
AdSense for Content
Ad Type
Two options
Impressions +2%
Clicks +21%
Earnings -34%
...and I'm talking high 7-digit impressions and mid 5-digit clicks.
Overall AdLinks (which comprises about 1/3 of my income) was "similar" in performance to December... lower but not nearly as much as everything else.

And by the way, the large rectangle seems to be backed to normal now of showing 4 ad units, that's why my ctr climbed up. Has anyone notice this as well?
It's hard to tell how many of those people who clicked through adlinks would have clicked through a regular if adlinks hadn't been there. I'm sure some would have but my overall earnings have increased since I added the link units.
I switched my large rectangle ads floating to the right in the text to skyscrapers on the left when they were showing just 2 ads. After adsense started showing 4 ads again I switched back to the rectangles and they get a much better click rate.
