Dear Adsense guru's, I have been surfing on this forum since a few hours. I see a lot of indept questions being answered.

Is there a place in this forum where a newbie can catch up with you guys :). If I would need to read all posts I will be old and grey before I am ready.

Hey RiYo, welcome to WW,
Read first AdSense TOS and help section.
After you read this forum for days, not just a few hours, you will learn quickly how to skip past irrelevant stuff and find the juice.
Good Luck.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld RiYo

Keep reading and don't try to learn everything at once.

Most of the experienced/knowledgeable here have learnt through trial and error tests over time and this applies to most sites.

A good start is to make sure you have good, relevant content and learn about the "heat map" and ad placements. This could reap instant rewards.

And please don't click on your own ads!

BTW, I am old and grey:-)

Monitor burn I think it's called.

Hi Tobbs,

What do you mean with 'adsense TOS' ... now you can probably really tell I am new.

BTW I am also already grey and in my thirties, so 'old' the eyes of a lot of you :)

What do you mean with 'adsense TOS'

Strangely most people do refer to them as the TOS (Terms Of Service) however it should be T&C's (Terms And Conditions):

[google.com...]

Try clicking on the little Library link at the top. It has a collection of interesting good basic and not so basic Adsense threads. That should get you started.

I'd say make sure you understand the TOS, (what type of content is forbidden, not clicking on own ads, number of banners per page etc.), put adsense on your site and see what happens.

In the meantime, keep reading any threads in the forum that interest you and don't be afraid to ask questions. We were all newbies here at one point in time, and there are a lot of us willing to answer them!

Hey TiYo
You'd be surprised how young you are if you knew the ages of some people in this forum, including myself.

I went trough all this last year, it is a steep learning curve but worth pursuing.

I lurked around for a while so I could get a better understanding of who really knew the game and I monitored posts that were relevent.

Like a jigsaw, it all game together and now I try to help, as I was helped.

Welcome aboard!

And while you are reading up on some things and take a break to actually put the ads on your site you would do well to use the Google heat map for placement. I have also had great luck with the adlink type (only one per page though) :)

Welcome aboard! (And don't mention age....shhhhh)

RiYo .. I have my moments, I drop in from time to time, and then disappear for a while until I return again.

Its unlikely you will see a shower of posts from me I scive off again!
