Many people on here either make a few dollars for spending money, or they use web publishing and adsense as their sole source of income. I recently started up my first website and it is now online, but have over a dozen ideas for more websites. my question is, how many sites do you guys have up as of now w/ adsense? how time consuming is it? can you hold a day job and still keep this as a hobby or is there not that much time in a day?

One.

It's a full-time job.

One very big site.

I spend a lot of time on marketing, SEO, tweaking ad placement, navigation, etc. to try and get that extra dollar of income a day.

But otherwise it's self sustaining. I could just leave it the way it is and it would probably keep on churning out money.

It's really not much though so it's hardly a replacement for my day job.

I have 1 pretty much. It doesn't make much money, but I am working and messing with different ways to make more with it experimenting I get tons of hits and visitors just no clicks. This month has been one of my best so far hopefully it will get better as I experiment. I am working on a 2nd site also for expermenting I am still new to the game.

Nothing here yet earning me enough for a living, but its still fun to watch your site pay for itself and give a little spending money.

Two that carry adsense.

One of them is my main site - an archive of information, and the other is a complimentary blog where I can add relevant news stories, new research and discuss them in language better understood by some of my visitors.

It's not a full time job for me, but does require a few hours a week to keep up to date. But for each of those hours I'm earning a very nice hourly rate :)

I have 15 sites, 7 running adsense and four full-time staff.

It makes us all plenty - but Adsense is only a small bonus (for people I cant sell to) compared to the actual sales revenue from all the sites ;-)

To clarify my last post, we have several online shops which display Adsense only to visitors that I cant sell too as they are outside our target market (determined by geotargeting their IP).

5 sites, and not very busy, as I have a full time job, and have no time for my websites. Still making reasonable money and happy.

how many sites do you guys have up as of now w/ adsense?

100+ all running Adsense. All the same niche widget global business.

how time consuming is it?

I work on the directory portal every day for 2-3 hours issuing new press releases and new relevant content.

The main widget site maybe a couple of hours per week maximum.

All the other sites look after themselves with the occasional index page update or SEO tweaking.

can you hold a day job and still keep this as a hobby or is there not that much time in a day?

It's very much a part-time job whilst I concentrate on marketing my niche widgets, quotations, visiting clients, exhibitions etc.

I reckon IF I were only to devote 100% of my efforts into the sites then I could easily increase earnings two or threefold.

Time, it's all about time, and trying to find interested assistance is a nightmare. When constructing a new self-contained niche site I lock myself away for an entire weekend from the Friday night until the Monday morning and only stopping to occasionally eat etc.

I'm fortunate in that my niche sites do not require frequent updates, once the correct data and images have been posted they are valid unless I feel like changing the layout etc.

Everyone wants big bucks without learning nor putting in the hours. The ones that are capable are already doing it for themselves:-)

I currently have 5 sites, but only one has adsense. My main site will never have adsense, but there are two sites in infancy which will be incorporating adsense in about two months.

3 sites - one quite large, the other two HOPEFULLY growing larger. :)

I can't say it makes me even a part-time income yet, but as a freelance writer the income I make really helps a lot. And thanks to these boards I'm learning how to make more with Adsense.

Take care,
Christina

1 site, I have a full time job. site takes up from 5min to 1 hour a day and maybe 3-4hours on the weekend (all time has to do with tweaking, updating and putting up new content). nice side income, but doesn't replace my salary at work. I would not retire my full-time job for AdSense, even if the site made me as much as the job. All in all, i'm very thankful I found adsense just 8 months ago.

I have 8 sites, all running AdSense. The biggest has over 5000 pages and get this, some days it makes less than another site with less than 50 pages. Now if I could only make another 10 sites like that 50 page one ...

for those of you who use adsense on all of your sites, do you use other programs, or strictly adsense?

what is the traffic like on all of your sites that you run w/ adsense?

My site uses AdSense ads, display ads, and affiliate links. The three different revenue streams complement each other nicely.

I run several sites with no Adsense so far, and now I consider signing up and placing Adsense on some of my sites. But I can't understand one thing, please help me.

Some members say:

"I have 15 sites, 7 running adsense and four full-time staff."

"100+ all running Adsense."

"I have 8 sites, all running AdSense."

Adsense TOS say:

Multiple accounts held by the same individual or entity are subject to immediate termination unless expressly authorized in writing by Google (including by electronic mail).

And Adsense registration form requires to specify the site domain, so it appears one Adsense account is dedicated to one site domain.

I'd like to place Adsense on more sites, each with different domain, with different subjects and languages. I understand each site should be approved by Google separately, but TOS forbids me to open more than one account.

How do you manage to have Adsense on more than one sites? Do you have partners and other accounts are registered with their names or do I misunderstood Adsense terms?

I never saw anything in the TOS that limits you to one site per account. You have to follow their guidelines on what sites NOT to show ads on (i.e. adult) but once approved, I think they give you enough leeway to place on your other sites.

This does bring up an interesting question I have been wondering about. I have my adsense account for my sites, but I also help another group with their site, especially their advertising. It requires me to log into their adsense account to check statistics. I hope google doesn't hold that against me in the future thinking I have created multiple accounts.

How do you manage to have Adsense on more than one sites?

[google.com...]

How do I add more sites to my account?

The scripts on the Ad layout code page and Search code page are valid for any page in any site on which you want to display Google ads. Simply add the code to any page, and we'll automatically detect the new site.

OK, thanks for help, I hope there will be no problem that I'll add Adsense to sites in different languages than the first reviewed site. Obviously, I'll submit the best one for review.
