POP UP on Google admanager

I went to manage my Google account and when I clicked on the link to payments info a Popup jumped up from a financial company, won't say the name here but will sticky anyone who wants it.

They wanted me to input all my information (I did not). Is anyone else seeing this?

I went to Payment History > Payment Link then it shows me the Payment Details without a pop up.

I went to My Account > Payment Details > No pop up.

that was scarey stuff, wish I had been less in a hurry to x it out, I could have sent the url to Google...Darn!

Ann, could be a backdoor or some spyware on your machine, to retrieved your information. Better start scanning your computer now.

Yes, It might be that nasty spyware program like "SpySheriff" that I had a while back on my PC. It starting popping up all kinds of junk everywhere, including when I was logged into Adsense. I had to use Microsoft AntiSpyware to remove it. It's all gone now, and I've never seen another popup again.

Maybe the Spyware on your computer was designed only for Adsense accounts or some related.

Last week I have read an article regarding a worm that targeted only a Chinese Online Game account. This time it could be AS, we dont know.

What I suggest - Virus Scan your PC and Change your passwords immeddiately.

It also could have been from a site that you visited before going to your Adsense account...a delayed pop up action.

I use Microsoft Antispyware. Its in beta but powerful and free till mid 2006.

I use the Micro$oft beta one, and spysweeper. I've turned off the alerts though - you really would be shocked at how many times a day they find something unpleasant in the woodshed.

But the idea of ads (not popups) on your adsense account pages is brilliant, think of the targeting and the money G could make, very interested to see where they would place those ads, and the blending techniques on non search results pages.

Spybot - Search & Destroy, and Adaware. Combine the two, and you'll never have spyware trouble again.

Maybe some sort of malware on Your computer.

There are always more tricks.

Runing the user agent statistic from my server,
there opened suddenly the search part of MSIE filled with the most strange search boxes.

Seems somebody has coded his user agent string in a way to cause this at creating the statistic.

yes mac and safari or firefox can get you out of spyware.

actually I used PC but I am very carefull on surfing and opening emails. I also used firewall and block scripts that are used by website with auto-downloading programs (spyware). I used spyware doctor and nortonm to scan my pc of spyware and virus.

I've had extremely great results with eWido. So much so that I've stopped using Adaware and Spysweeper altogether when clients run into spyware problems.

No spyware for myself thanks to Firefox.
