I recently received an offer for one of my domains. The money offered buy the buyer, though serious and legit, was not enough to make me want to sell it. It did however present an interesting question for me, namely what to do about AdSense should I actually sell the thing someday. What's the protocol for divorcing yourself from a domain that you ran AdSense on that the new owner may want to do as well? Anybody know?

Thanks.

Remove your AS code from the site. The new owner can put his on. Your account is tied to you, not to a particular site or sites.

simply remove the adsense code from the site design and transfer all files etc for the site.

the new owner can then just replace with their own code.

adsense accounts are not specifically attached to any single domain name as you can use your adsense account on any page/domain you wish.

adsense will eventually crawl the new owners site anyway.

If I were in that position, I would email Adsense support and say that from day X that domain is no longer mine and the ads showing there are not related to me.

This is not a requirement, but I would feel safer in case on day the buyer gets banned.

This is essential. I really wonder what stops G to add such a simple feature. We won't get paid for the clicks made from domains out of our registered list. Or better, the code won't show any ads at all. Everybody's safer.

Also, if it's the domain you first registered with, your 'Advertise on this site' link will still mention the original site name.
