A few moments a go I received a nice click dump and noticed that there were several channels with much higher CTR's than normally experienced.
Strangely I only responded to a similar post earlier today and I felt that the red flag was raised at about 25%.
Several of these channels today have averaged between 30-100%.
My guess is that the Adsense team have seen the activity, checked it out, and have now credited me with the valid earnings.
If this is correct then do we actually have to worry about excessive clicks since the team are monitoring it all the time thus our click abuse paranoia is just that?
If this were to be true then would that mean none of us would actually know how many clicks, valid+invalid, we are really getting?
What's your take on it?
Do the click counters really work in your opinion?
My faith's in G at this point since I am happy with the program at the moment however it would be really interesting to know how many invalid clicks there are per week/month?

I've had a few channels do this over the last year and probably longer and had no problems that I know of.

That would be my guess also. A few weeks ago I had almost as many clicks with AdSense search as I have with AdSense ads. This had never happened before. I e-mailed Google and got a canned response that they were monitoring the situation. In the end I got credited for the clicks. It looked like someone was doing the same search over and over and clicking again and again but I got the money from the clicks.

I agree but I still worry, it just human nature. In many respects AdSense is no different than any other revenue source, it can dry up. We just have to learn to live with it and have some type of contingency plan in place. I like to believe that if you play by the rules have a clean history Google will work with you should any strange behavior arise.
Google makes a lot of money from AdSense and publishers are a big part of the profitably. If it weren’t for our web sites then Google would loose a very important revenue stream.

Again I agree. The only way to really get an idea of the amount of clicks you are getting valid and or invalid is by using an outside AdSense tracker.

Any recommendations?
I don't feel as though I need one however curiosity may get the better of me:-)
