Hey everyone,

This is the first time this has happened to me. I have a program that records the clicks for me called "Adsense click stats" I noticed today I have no clicks which is strange so I clicked on of my own ads to see if it was working. The ad worked, but Google first doesnt say anyone still has clicked (which is fine as there is a bit of a delay in stats) but the strange part is my "Adsense click stats" says nobody has clicked also.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? It looks like people are clicking my ads but I'm not getting paid for it :S

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your first mistake.

Perhaps your database, or ad clicking script has broken, or a slight change in the way google display ads could have effected it?

As for not being paid, well perhaps it's a CPM ad, then you wouldnt get paid for the click, but per 1000 views...

Yeah I never click my own ads. This was probably the third time I have done it since my site started 10 months ago.

I didn't know there were CPM ads that I don't get paid per click but per 1000 impressions. Is that page views or visitors?

Some people have reported clicking on their own ads but not seeing it reported in the click stats or as income. It's possible that if Google can clearly recognize you as the owner of the site, then they don't credit you for clicking. That doesn't mean you won't get into trouble for doing so, though.

If you want to test out your click tracker, RIGHT-click on the ad block but don't actually open the ad. That will have the same effect and won't cause some advertiser to pay for your testing.

Also, note that click trackers can detect clicks from Internet Explorer only, as far as I am aware.

I use Firefox and not IE, that could be why it was not tracked. I do have a couple clicks reported now, so I think I just jumped the gun a bit. Thanks for your replies :D
