The first time it happened, I wrote to Adsense and told them about it, because I thought some poor advertiser's impression rate went way up.
Adsense sort of said: Our technology takes care of all of that - don't worry about it. I thought - great - okay.
But now, I see my CTR going down when I test a new site, and I make ad view impressions.
I test for ad content, functionality, color, look and feel, and all that kind of stuff.
Is there a way to turn off page views generated by my own testing? Or should I not view my own site, to keep the number of "false" page views to a minimum?
I have a special code generation mode for testing called red.
It puts for local viewing
<table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 border=0 bgcolor=#FF0000><tr height=$height><td width=$width> </table>
red rectangles instead of the SSI in the code.
So I look on actual ads appearing on my sites only, when I want to check what ads are coming.
