Seems like blogs are taking over the internet now a day. A lot of people are putting adsense in their blogs. Personally i'm not into blogs and don't know how people can just sit there and start reading them. For those that have blog websites or do your own blogs and put adsense on it. Is it worth it? do you actually get good results from having adsense on it?

I have two blogs where I make around $20 a day. I have a couple of other sites that I run with blogging software because it is so easy to create new pages, and categorize and link them to the other pages. Those other sites aren't really blogs though ... I removed the date tags and don't update them regularly.

My blog is about my adventures as a fulltime RVer.

Last year I earned just under $10K from Google AdSense. I have a bunch of other pages, all about RV kinds of stuff. Nearly all of my pages serve relevant ads.

Actually I got bullied into putting up a blog by a friend, and since I already had AdSense running on half a dozen other sites, I tossed the code in there too. Since I never post anything to the blog but pictures of my cat, it pretty much just sat and did nothing, till just for the heck of it I posted my world famous (well, almost) thanksgiving turkey recipe, which somehow comes up VERY high in MSN and Yahoo now (although not so much in Google) and I actually made some money off that. Who knew?

Now I guess it's back to cat pictures.

It depends on what you mean by "does it pay?" If you're asking if you can retire on it, the answer is probably not. But if you compare it to the income you'd get writing in a personal diary in a notebook, the answer is Absolutely!

I've had Adsense on my blog since September 2004 and I get paid every month and that's what matters to me. My goal is to get to that $100 mark. I've been successful since December 2004. Some months are squeakers where I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the 20th hoping to cross the finish line. This month, I hit my goal on January 11. I'm getting very, very good Google on some older entries that have to do with weight loss so January appears to be a good month for me. I could probably make more if I wrote tons on the topics I see that are getting the most attention, but I prefer to "keep it real" and concentrate on my site as a blog first, a source of income second. So I only write about what I want to write about, not necessarily what will give me the best ads.

The money doesn't come from folks who read your blog regularly. The money comes from folks who use a search engine to look for something and find your entry on what they're looking for. They read what you have to say and then click an ad to read more on the topic and/or buy something.
