Hope this message is motivational to starters and newcomers alike in the adsense business.

I started building a technology related site on late October of 2005 with adsense in mind. I had no prior experience in SEO and building a good informational website but due to hype and potential in this business I gave it a try.

First thing I did was to read as much as possible on subjects such as SEO and building a good informative website. I cam across webmasterworld forum and I began to research for 2 weeks straight, reading everything I could on above subjects (Even going through past topics) and made numerous observation on the current trend.

After I had good grasp of what needed to be done to build a successful site, I began submitting my site to major search engines and focused on building content for another 3 weeks(Burned many candles). Moreover, I had yet to use adsense because I wanted to put heavy emphasis on fresh content first.

In December is when I launched aggressive link development(relevant sites) and other SEO campaigns on my site. Furthermore, I began to place adsense on some of the hot spots google and forum users suggested. Google embraced my fresh content and few backlinks: Within 2 weeks, my most important keyword placed my site on the 7th page. Following week I was bumped up to 3 and now I am ranked 11th and in the verge of being placed on the 1st page.

As far as google adsense goes, my average was $2 at the end of December. In January so far, my average is at $7 a day which is a huge improvement over December.

So far my experience has been very enlightning and exhausting. It requires tons of research, discipline, and patience. Boy was I wrong when I first started this venture thinking it was easy.

Again, thank you all for valuable advice and experience.

Dan

May I ask how many pages you have on your site?

What is SEO?

I've come across this term alot in this forum. But I don't know what it is or what it does.

How do I use this “SEO” to my advantage?

Thanks,

ed,

How many pages did you have when you started link development? How many do you have now? Are you adding content every day?
