Hi.
I joined Ad Sences about 2 weks ago.
Everyday I turn on my computer go to my site and the ads are not there. Then I do a search using the toolbar for a keword I know I can find my site in results for, and click go to my site and bingo, the ads appear.
Can anyone explain this. by the way it is not just my site same happens If I go to any site that features the ads.

This sounds like something that is related to your computer, not related to AdSense itself. Are you running any sort of ad-blocking programs? Norton Internet Security, for instance, will block AdSense ads from appearing, and it defaults to blocking ads.

It probably means the adsense bot has visited your site now and worked out which ads to put on each page.

Could there be anything in robots.txt causing confusion?

Could there be anything on the pages interfering? When I've added pages from different sites, all different topics, it's taken only a few seconds for the right ads to appear.

Hi again Jenstar,
I think it is something to do on my end, however I doubt that I am the only one with this problem.
I am not running any ad blockers. The only blocker is for popup by google toolbar.

Hi level80,
Like I said before this happens to me, no msatter which site I go to. So it should not be related to my site or the code within it.

Hi Marcia,
I do not have a robots.txt. I do have some robots tags on some pages but not on my regular pages. When the ads appear they are fast and targeted but the thing is it appears as blank when I start my computer and as said before it is not only my site.

I thought someone would have figured out this by now. Well as long as it does not happen to a majority of my visitors I could live with it.

Thank you all for your replies.

How long have you noticed this? Have you installed anything when you have noticed the change.

The one other possibility - have you run SpyBot:Search & Destroy, and AdAware? Perhaps you have adware/spyware installed. Between the two of those programs, they get rid of nearly everything (be sure to update them both before running them, so you have the latest version of updates.)

Has anyone had spyware/adware that affects AdSense?
