One, assuming someone clicks on the ads.

There are many variables, they boil down to 2 things:

likely click through rate (CTR)
likely earnings per click (EPC)

These change dramatically based on hundreds of factors. Forums tend to get very poor CTR for example. Very targeted sites can see CTR percentages consistently in double figures.

EPC has an upper limit determined by the max content bids placed by advertisers, these bids vary from a few cents to over ten dollars. The lower end is always 0 :(

EPC is also subject to Smart Pricing, so you will rarely get the max bid.

So, you COULD make $100 from a thousand page views. However you are LIKELY to make much, much less than that.

I guess what I'm saying is you need to ask a more specific question (without violating board terms).

.... and - by placing Adsense on your site it may also enhance the design of your website - thus making it more an acceptable place to "hang around", (and click!), once the traffic arrives.

For me, it would take 38,000 pv's for 100 bucks, roughly... But it varies from month to month, this total is based on an 18-month average for my site and a 100-dollar total. So like was said above, it could be more, it could be less.

As far as it being worthwhile, I take whatever I can get, whether it's worth it or not, LOL!

1000 pv's x 10% CTR x 1$ pro click = 100 $
100,000 pv's x 1% CTR x 0.1$ pro click = 100 $

and yes, ctr can even be lower for some kind of sites, and yes $/click can also be lower...

Precisely, for one account it's usually about 9,000 page impressions yet for another account 5,800 page impressions this month so far however 10,500 last month!

Don't forget that Google Page Impressions will also differ to your own statistics by between 20-70% depending upon bot activity etc.

Usually the lesser traffic to the site the higher the percentage.
