Should I get seperate accounts

Two different types of sites

I've got two sites currently with AdSense and sharing one AdSense account. One site has a general audience. The other is in a higher paying niche. Will the lower CPC of my general audience site bring down my overall CPC for both sites? Should I have two seperate accounts to maximize CPC revenue?

I don't think an individual can have more than one adsense account.

Unless of course you are setting up 2 llcs.

You can have more than one if you sign up under your business name(s) and your personal name.

"Unless of course you are setting up 2 llcs."

Hi Freq, guess I am not fully awake yet.
What's a llc?

Anyone know the answer to the original post. Will the CPC of the gen. audience site drag down the overall CPC?

tama,

It has been rumoured that this could indeed happen but I've never seen anything conclusive. If that is the only reason for you to get 2 accounts then I would say not to bother.

humblebeginnings,

llc = limited liability corp.- as with all corporations they are considered a distinct legal entity

You could set up as many llcs as you want and have as many accounts as you want theoretically.

There was talk a little while ago about this - but its not the CPC that drives it, its the conversion rate and yes, apparently they measure it across your entire account, not per page, or even per site.
ie. If one of those sites has a much worse conversion rate than the other then it will drag the CPC down for the better site.
Unfortunately the publisher is not given any information about the conversion rate - so you can't make any decisions about it.
Multiple adsense accounts would be the solution, but unfortunately we are limited by T&C to one per entity. So, unless you have a business you can use to get a second account, or a trusted other person (a parent or spouse? I'd be leary.) then you are stuck. :(

Its not something they tell us, but the talk was all about it a couple of months ago.
Here Jensense talks about it:
[jensense.com...]
A lot of the blogs were covering it around this date.
Of course, we don't *know* that this is right, but its fairly well accepted.
