Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

What about a news site on prescription drugs?

Is it against the rules to have a site with news and information about different prescription drugs and have Adsense on them?

I guess I'm confused on what they mean by "Promotion" of prescription drugs...

My guess is that the answer would be no, if that's all the site is about. But you'd have to ask Google if you want a more authoritative answer based on the specific situation.

Before I worried about Adsense on such a site, I'd be worried about the legalities and regulations (at least in the US). The prescription-drug industry is heavily regulated, and some of that regulation might spill over into what you are talking about.

Based on your description, it's difficult to say whether this type of site would be covered by the AdSense policy on the sales or promotion of prescription drugs

If you're already an AdSense publisher, my advice is to email your URL to adsense-support@google.com and request that a Google rep evaluate the page. Then you'll know for certain whether or not you can display ads on that site, which should clear up some of the anxiety.

If you're not an AdSense publisher, you can try submitting your application with that URL and if it's approved, you're welcome to begin displaying ads.
