Hi

Is there a way to set up my adsense so that I get to show only ads that pay me for impressions..Clicks are pretty low now, so I want to display these CPM ads alone so that I can earn something rather than nothing.

hmmm...

yes and no.

You can setup your ads to "IMAGE ONLY". Most of these ads pay you CPM (although, some of them pay you only clicks).

also, remember, if they pay you CPM, your clicks will not be counted.

If you are saying they are not counted in the report totals, I don't think this is correct. The Adsense Support website states of CPM ads: "Clicks and impressions are reported just as they are with pay-per-click ads".

So, whilst for PPC ads you are paid per click and for CPM you are paid per impression, with both of them the number of clicks and impressions are counted in the reports.

not counted for earnings.
they are counted for stats.

in other words, they equal = $0 because they pay you per CPM, not per clicks.

Your site has to be selected by advertisers to show CPM ads

can you tell me where you get this info from?

can we please have a definite confirmation, that all image ads only pay per impression? image ads paying per click would be insane. remember the branding effect of image vs text. click price would have to be tremendous to compensate the publisher. this is obviously not the case. reminds me of good old affiliate networks who account image banners per lead or sale.. ridiculous.

So would you suggest my website, which is now new with relatively few impressions and so very few clicks to go for Image only ads as they would earn me atleast a little money compared to ppc that earns me nothing.

How are the earnings from CPM.?are they comparable to CPCs?

How can I ask Google to select my site as well?

Google will automatically include your site in its list for advertisers. What is the subject of your website?

caran..mine is an educational site. But my question was regarding including my site for the display of CPM ads..is it based on some criteria or something? or just choosing to show image ads which are predominantly CPM based get me into that list..

Also, how is the payment done..is the amount accrued each time my impression crosses a 1000 landmark or is it done per every impression.. My site has infour hours last, got some 100 impressions with image ads, but i have not been paid anything as yet.

there may not be too many advertisers in your category. I think CPM ads are credited on a per impression basis

As of now, I get impressions from local Jobsites..they are infact popular names..so I dont think they need to do it per click basis..I hope they are CPMs.
