I've been away from WW for a few days so my apologies if this is something that has been discussed recently.

Tonight I saw an unusual (at least for me) AdSense display on a blog. It consisted of three lines. The first line read "Ads By Google" and just under that was "View Ads About:" and the third line had a blank search box and a submit button.

If you inserted the word "dog" in the box and clicked tbe button, you got a list of ads about dogs - just like you would if you clicked on an AdLink display. If you inserted "bicycle" in the box, you got bicycle ads...and so on.

Is this a new feature now available or am I just really out of touch?

That's been around a while. I can't even remember how long. They throw that in there in place of one of the ads....

I usually see that with ad links when the page is new.

Hmmmm. I'd like to have the option to have it all the time.

Do you hope users will enter their word and search for ads? , That usually shows when G cant find relevant ads.

Yes, I like the way it functions better than the AdSense Search feature.

Also, for a blog, it would be useful. If you write about a political topic, ads aren't limited to just the content of your text. A visitor interested in widgets could find relevant ads and a visitor interested in cooking could find relevant ads.

I like the concept. It gives the visitor what he wants instead of what Google thinks the visitor wants.
