1. Channels site earning 2. Adsense Labelling

Hi everyone,

I have two important questions.

I created a Active URL channel in the adsense account but the Earning generated by this channels site is not including in my total earnings. It is still showing me separate earning not in my total earning.
Can anyone tell me please how this earning is showing me separately and why its not including in my total earnings.

Secondly, According to Google Adsense policies the labelling of the Adsense ads should not be other than Advertisement or Sponsored links. What does this means? Please explain.

Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Kashif

Kashifkb,

don't know about channels, but the Adsense labeling question is pretty obvious: You should not place a text other than "Advertisement or Sponsored links" anywhere near the ads. An absolute no-no, for example, is "Click the ads below". Either you don't label the ads, or you stick with "Advertisement" or "Sponsored Links".

Hi everyone,

Let me clarify the question of labellig once again.

If for example this is the heading of the content

"WHAT IS A CARCINOMA"

and exact below is placed the google adsense ads, then is it considered a Lable and is it against the TOS of Google or not? or it is just a part of the content.

Please also answer me the Channel's question.

Thanks

Re the label question: I can't tell you how AdSense will react to that. I wouldn't do it--it could confuse people. There needs to be some of the article content visible, not just the title and an AdSense block, unless you are trying to set up an AdSense trap. Which some people do quite profitably.

Channels: When you view your stats by channel, be sure to select the channel. You then only see the channel or channels you have designated. When you view by aggregate, the channel data is all combined--all the channels you have created, plus all the pages that do not have specified channels. Aggregate data is always the correct overall total, regardless of how you set up channels. It may look like the channel isn't included, but it is.

Run the label past Google before you use it.

My reading of the TOS is that ONLY "Sponsored links" of "Advertisments" are acceptable. I think that it's likely to be a "no" from Google, so there isn't any point in jeapordising your account by doing this unless you have the OK from them.

Google seems to enforce its rule on the (mis)labeling of ad units, but lets people get around the rule with some unbelievable contrivances.

I've seen the type of headline described, followed by one or two lines of microprint "content", then the ad block. And Google seems to be okay with it. (I haven't asked them, but the site at issue has been following that model for at least six months.)
