I have a CTR of about 30%. Brilliant on the one hand but am scared that google may crunch my account, thinking it just too good to be true. So, now I am in the most stupid situation where I am having to rethink my pages to get the CTR DOWN! Has anyone else got CTR's this high?

On some pages I have CTR of 40% and on others less than 1 %. It depends on the page. I think a big sudden change is more worrisome than a high CTR. If the clicks are legitimate then there should never be any problem with a high CTR.

My site used to be linked to from a prominent site in my field. Somehow when this was occuring I was getting CTR of 25-40% consistenly (over the course of about 2 months). Google never questioned me. The site no longer links to me and my CTR is down to 1-5% and google still never questioned me about those crazy high numbers.

Thanx guys. I hear you. Am still a bit worried. But will leave as is for now. On a different tangent - I have 2 ads vying for my adspace right now, one paying peanuts and one paying quite a lot. Am thinking to block the peanuts ad. Valid move? Is this common adsense strategy?

OUCH!

your fingers must hurt because of all that clicking.

I hardly succeed in getting to 10%...

I am now designing a clockwork clicker to ease all my hard work...

I've thought the same thing. Once I had a channel with a 200% ctr. Nothing happened but I did think this might be it. I think a lot of what goes into canceling an AdSense account has to do with the overall account and not just a few pages or site.

"I am now designing a clockwork clicker to ease all my hard work..."

would strongly consider making a purchase when it is done. Great idea.

I have one low volume visitor site, just over 1,100+ page impressions per month which has consistently returned a 28% CTR since a re-design 4 months ago.

I wouldn't mind a few more sites like this!

One way I found getting the CTR down is by adding more ad units - eg. if you are only using one ad unit, then place 3 ad units on a page, you should get your 30% CTR down to 10%.
