There was another testimonial post in the 'inside adsence' group. It was on <snip>. When i went to check out the site i noticed that the ad units had a "advertise here" in the actual ad unit (next to the "ads by goooogle") Anyone else getting this, or is there a option to have this on?

That might have been a Premium publisher, or a smaller site participating in a Beta testing program for this feature.

"Advertise on this site" I just spotted on one of G's bigger AdSense clients and it looks like a fantastic idea!

This is an invite-only beta test on only a handful of publisher sites.

I thought this feature is already on the way as i set my landing page etc in my adsense account. May be this is in beta as i have never seen link to "advertise on this site" on my site. But it might appear soon.

It is on my site, and I am not a big publisher by any means. I think they are rolling it out for the general publishing public.

Not beta - been working on my site for two days. And I disabled it! Only now after a full day did it stop displaying the link.

Why did you disable the link?

i saw this on my site now. so i assume this is not a beta and its launched for all publisher sites who opted in.

Is there some disadvantage to having the link on the ads?

I don't really know that there's a disadvantage per se.. what I objected to was the presumptiousness of google to pretend to speak for my website.

As per the faq link here [google.com...]

it may increase revenue for some sites.

Just seen the link on my site also.

It could be confusing for some as they may contact Google instead of me directly to advertise.

We will wait and see what happens no harm in trying for a few months before crying.

It reduces click through and confirms they are ads, so people dont click them. My click through was the lowest this month with that link displayed.

I think it is a better way to get CPM ads displayed on your site.

the idea of google recruiting advertisers to advertise on one's site is cool if you don't actively recruit them yourself...

though down the bottom of our pagge we already have an advertise on our site link - and it just confuses the user when they go to google and not our add to page...

it would be cool if on our advertising page to have an option to refer them to Google if they would rather Pay Per Click or CPM etc...

But I dont want any cpm ads! They are "site" or rather root URL targeted. So you get the same non tsrgeted ad on all the sites pages regardles of the subject. So ads for coffins on the wedding pages for example! Kind of not good for click through or useful to your visitors. Plus they seem to pay far less on sites that normally have good cpc and high click through rates.
