What CTR's are people getting?

People want their CTR to be higher. But I also hear that if it is too high google will close your account. At what percentage do google start cutting? And what do people do that are near this threshold? Must be bizarre because they then might have to think about trying to lower the number of clicks!

Where do You receive all this rumors?

I use the same layout and ad placement on several sites.

Depending on the theme, there are big differences in CTR.

Breaking this further down to the most successfull ad channels and most low earning ad channels, the difference is even bigger.

Well, I think hermes is right in the sense that a 100% CTR is going to look pretty suspicious. I have seen claims of CTRs in the 10-25% range posted here by people with long-standing AdSense cred. My own site's CTR is lower, but there is indeed a HUGE amount of variability.

So long as you play the game by the rules, I don't think you need to worry about CTR--except about increasing it.

Oh, I do wish we could discuss rates and still be in the TOS!

I have found that there is an optimum ctr for my site that smart pricing seems to like. It's my age / 10. I was born in 1960.

Smart pricing doesn't mind a little lower, but starts bopping me on the head if it goes much above.
