Site planning stage:

what to expect with these figures

I am in the planning stage of a site that will hopefully reach the following level of completion within 90 days:

1) 100-300 content articles, avg. 500 words
2) discussion board with at least 100 active posters, discussions related to the content articles.

I am not unwilling to run site targetted adword campaigns to drive initial traffic until (hopefully) viral effect from forums and natural search kicks in.

The subject matter fulfills the following criteria:

1) keywords related to this topic are bid at between .60 and 2.00 per click on overture
2) keywords have a search frequency ranging from moderate (50 searches/day) to high (250k and up/month)

Assuming the site's adsense positioning is reasonably optimized what would you guys expect the AS earning potential for a site fitting this description at say, 10k hits/day?

I would expect around $100/day considering the site is highly optimized for adsense. BUT what is more important than the value of clicks is the type of your visitors and of course the subject.. Trying to guess what would happen there is like trying to shoot an invisible bird.

Well that's what I'm hoping, I will keep you all informed if it goes anywhere.

I did forget to mention this is a highly competetive topic, but it's something I have a passion for and so the chances of getting in the top 10 in any search engines are pretty much non-existent, at least based on current information about site ranking. Meaning I am not going to be able to get 10's of thousands of backlinks.

However the content should be fairly unique and (I hope) of a high enough quality that readers may refer each other to my site.
