Adsense referral button positioning

Are there rules about it?

I think putting an adsense referral button near the ads, specially that saying "This website monentize with adsense" is a clear insinuation of the "Click my ads to support this site" message.

I would think twice before doing it.

What do you think?

Nothing is in the terms of service saying you can't have the button next to an advert, I have got it above one ad block and at the side of another and until I get an email saying this is not allowed that's where the button is staying.

and if it's not acceptable in this position then its bye bye to the button, lets face it I don't think we are going to earn a fortune from this button especially when you only get paid when the refering publisher gets their money

The referral button is an complete different theme.

There are much less restrictions for Amazon ads, because they are only paid by conversion, not by clicks.

Since referral ads are not targeted, it would be logical to show them also on pages not allowed for AdSense ads.

So there sould be more information about the referral buttons allowed / disallowed.

For example, can they be used as PSA replacement?
