Using Commission Junction for alternate ads

Can we use commission junction banner ads as the alternative ad? Will the code work correctly?

I was wondering this too... I have a CJ.com and burst account how can i point alternative ads to those ad server... and please dont point me to the FAQ because all it says is I should ask someone else

Tomseys, you can't just use the code by sticking it into Google's Adsense code generation thingy, but you can use CJ banner code by first putting it into a separate page. So, like, first, make a separate page called something like:

http://your_site.blah/cj_ad.html

Then, in that page, put in the CJ ad code that's an appropriate size for the Adsense thingy you're replacing (e.g. 120x600 or whatever). Make SURE that when you create the CJ code, you set it to open in a new window, or the destination page will open in the tiny little frameset of the Google Ads.

Then, when you create your Google code, put in

http://your_site.blah/cj_ad.html

as the "Alternate URL."

You can also write a script to take and rotate several CJ ads like that, and then put in http://your_site.blah/cj_ad.cgi or http://your_site.blah/cj_ad.php (whichever you use) as the alternate ad url.

Positioning it top left works fine. If you make sure your page has zero margins a standard tower ad fits perfectly in the Adsense space.

I was thinking of using the standard 468x60 banner in top left of my page. This will make it appear in place of the adsense banner (at appropriate times)putting the url in as previously described?

That should work ... test it and see on a page that you don't upload, that doesn't have any keywords in the file name. That will usually trigger PSA's, and if things are working you'll see your banner instead.

You could always add your preferred CJ ad's to a smart zone, then you would give you variety in ad's controlled from the CJ interface and not have to write a script.

You still need to implement the above with a 0 border etc, but it does rotate them nicely!

Or just setup a Smart Zone in the CJ interface and call it from an HTML file (as previously mentioned) its much easier!
