Channel data should update at the same rate as regular reporting. As stated in our Support pages:
Reports on impressions and clicks are usually updated every fifteen to thirty minutes. Occasionally there will be a delay of 24 hours or more in the reports you see on the website.
I also thought you might be interested in the following Support page, which will give you lots more information about using channels:

For example, if you have two or three banners on your page, how do you know which one's work? If you knew that one of them didn't work then you could remove it, and the other banner would probably earn more as a result.
You can put a banner on each of your pages, but that may be a mistake financially. If you get a lot of impressions and very few clicks, adsense regards that as poor performance, and smart pricing will discount any clicks you do get. On the other hand, if you have banners where they have proved to work, your CTR will be optimum for your site, and smart pricing will put a better value on your clicks, and you will probably earn more as a result.
I'm always experimenting with banners on various pages. I think I've worked out pretty well where adsense works for me. On pages it doesn't, I have made the decision not to have advertising in the main, as ad blindness may contribute to lower clicks on the pages that adsense works on.
However, you need to use channels to find out any of this! Using channels doesn't affect your earnings, other than it will enable you to get the best out of adsense.
I still can't figure out the difference between URL channel and custom channel. I always had inaccurate tracking when using URL channel, being tracked double, etc. I want to track the performance of a site but the individual pages on it as well. How would I accomplish this?
