I have another site I'd like to put Adsense on, do I tell Google I'm doing that? Or just go ahead and slap the code on there as long as the site is legit?
If that's ok, will I be able to tell how the sites perform differently?
I got to know about Google Adsense today and trying to fathom out its value.
I guess there is a huge earning potential from it but am really confused as to how to get started.
I have many queries bothering me but two of the major ones are:
1. Is it mandatory to have a website to use adsense profitably?
2. Is it mandatory to sell a product to use adsense profitably?
I know all of u will feel to smile at my naivety but then everybody is naive at some point in life. U just need proper info. and right guidance to go forward.
I am sure I will get a lot of help from all of you out there.
I expect that whatever ways we make money with Adsense, someone will be making money without doing it that way.
If I were starting again, I would use Adsense only for websites selling or talking about services, and I would use Chitika (and maybe Adsesnse) on sites or pages with products.
And I think you are supposed to have a website to use Adsense, but I might be wrong. Perhaps you can put it in a mailshot.
You definitely need a website to participate in AdSense. However, you do not need to sell anything to participate.
I recommend watching the AdSense Quick Tour if you'd like to learn more about the program:

My query.
I publish a website and start getting hits. Now I put an adsense ad on my website, then
1. Google charges me for what?
a. No. of relevant ads, and/or
b. No. of clicks on those ads.
2. Google pays me for what?
What would be my typical cost per month towards Google and typical revenue per month from Google?

As far as getting a website, a quick way to get started would be to head over and get yourself a free blog from one of the free blogger sites. This way, you'll have an instant online presence.
Also, google encourages adsense on blogger.
Hope that helps

2. eCPM
cost per thousand
3. Channels
channels are used to track where your clicks are coming from, you can either use url channels which all you do is add the full url of the site (from the adsense login) you wish to be tracked and adsense automatically picks up the site from the code you have placed on any pages, the alternative is a custom channel which can be used to track as an example two ads on the same page so you can see which ad block is performing the best
4. Difference between AdSense and AdWords
awords are the advertisers who pay to have their adverts listed on the google search results page and also the publisher network of sites what is called adsense.
5. If I have more than one website then do I need to have separate accounts with Google
no once you have had your first site passed by the adsense team you can place the adsense code on as many sites as you so wish as long as all your site conform to the adsense Terms and Conditions [google.com]
