Click Dump Today?

My stats are about double today. No complaints, of course, but a bit of concern.

Is anyone showing signs of a click dump?

Thanks.

What is a click dump? I see nothing unusual.

Skunker,

I made the original post because I monitor my stats frequently and carefully. I do so primarily because I am always concered about click fraud.

When I see that my stats are 100% above usual, I get concerned and come to WW to see if my AdSense friends are experiencing the same. I'm sorry that my post falls below your standards for a good post.

But, I thank you for that most helpfuly reply.

"another useless post. We see one of these every other day."

Come on, so what?
Let folks have their say here.
If you don't like it, don't read it, and don't reply.
The only thing that matters in this forum is:
is it about Adsense, and does your post comply with WW TOS. If so, then OK.

By the way; these "another useless post" replies are even worse!

Having never experience a click dump (or maybe just never noticed) perhaps those of you who have can fill me in.

Do they "dump" them back into the days where the actual clicks occured or just lump them into one day? If they just dump them into one day that would really screw up tracking.

Who can explain to me what click dump is? Do only high level publishers have this privilege?

I'll contribute another useless post by saying that today are stats are "normal" for us so far. Yesterday they were "normal". The day before that they were "normal". Isn't that boring? But by the law of averages, if 3 or 4 days a week are likely to be normal, that means something different might happen tomorrow. It'll be a good day or a bad day, and we don't know which. Isn't that exciting? (Yawn) Well, actually, having 3 normal days in a row doesn't mean that something different will happen tomorrow, but the explanation of that would be boring as well, so I'll not bother.

Anyway, if you've read this far, the point was: no 'click dump' here today, folks.

And for those who don't know what a click dump is, it's a place where people who want to avoid waste tax send all their used clicks.

A click dump is when they 'dump' all the clicks that were under review and were suggested real clicks and not fraud into one day.

It is not limited to a certain type of user, they are just clicks that were under review and Adsense decided to count them and instead of listing them on the day they happened, they get listed on the current day.

Anyways, I see it also. My stats are way above normal for clicks and earnings.

I'm sure these 'click dumps' are not global. They only do them by groups which explains why only certain memebers see them on certain days.

You took the time to write
Your lack of knowledge plight
But quicker it would be
A google search to see

"what is a click dump" you type
The SERP will explain the hype
And if you still don't know
Then your puzzlement here should show

Then the knowledge on this list
Will help you get the gist
But for questions of basic definition
Demanding our time is an imposition

Never thought I would see WW members putting down other member's posts. For that, you can go to one of the other thousand SEO forums.

Remember guys, this forum is being used by both experts and rookies. If you think it's useless, don't read or reply.

YAYYYY...I've just had a click dump:-) Honest!

Hmmm...you obviously do not understand English humour...the intimation is that there is nothing incorrect with members posting "useless" posts.

Many newbies may need the reassurance that there is nothing wrong or whether anyone else is seeing strange occurences.

Nothing to get in a flap about, we wouldn't help if we didn't want to, it's not compulsory.

Optirex is right about the humour. And from dzcap's reply I suspect he understood and appreciated the humour as well. Perhaps the problem, Optirex, is that we spell humour with a "u". Those who spell it without a "u" can't recognise it as 'humor'? (And for all our non-UK readers, that in itself was an attempt at humor - so please send any letters of complaint to Tony Blair)

There is a serious point under the humour/humor/heumer: the WW glossary is meant to obviate the need to ask basic questions. But it seems to be unavailable at the moment, and from memory it doesn't contain 'click dump' and a number of other Adsense terms. I think it needs to be brought back on line and expanded, if possible.

Well then, if this is questions and answers...forget click dumps - what is the secret to the universe?

Optirex, you shouldn't bother answering questions so basic as "what is the secret to the universe". Let's find something more meaningful to talk about.

By the way, did I tell you yesterday was "normal"?

OptiRex

6:22 pm on Nov 2, 2005 (gmt 0)

And I suppose it's normal for us still to be at work?

Oooops...only been here 8 hours, can't go yet, must do my normal 12 hours before beer...
