Today, my ctr suddenly dropped by 75%. The ctr is consistent for months, traffic is the same, I checked my sites and the ads are the same. I hope it's just a delay in reporting... otherwise a disaster.

Anyone else experiencing the same today?

Yes I hope it's just a delay in reporting. My traffic mostly comes from asia and this is the time period that I get most of the traffic and clicks.

It is hard to define what is "today" for all of us but i got ~zero clicks although there were several page views for over 15 hours yesterday.(nothing expected) In fact it was the best day in terms of number of visitors ;)

It was so strange. Things seem normal today.

Are there any opinions why such a thing happened? Did it happen before?

Thanks.

All normal here, though it seems to be a normal yet slow-ish Friday to me.

The traffic is little down and CTR is down by 50% here.

This happened to me yesterday, even though I also had a record number of impressions.

It also factored into a 80% CTR drop, but for that one day only.

Everything seems to be kosher today, except earnings are down.

My CTR is down 35% today from the norm. I'm thinking it's probably just a delay and it will catch up later today. Not too worried right now.

I am very very nervous, my CTR has dropped 5% today! Even worse my EPC is only up 5%, usually every 5th Friday my EPC rises 10%, this is just terrible. I think I may remove adsense from all my sites as I can't handle the stress of the normal statistical fluctuations.

ionchannels, I totally share your frustration! I used to earn 4 times as much with AdSense as with any other program. Now it's only 3.5 times. I'm going to switch to popunders.

After a near record day..

CTR down 80%
PPC down 60%
Revenue down...TOO MUCH!

I thought this smart pricing is once a week, not every 2 days...

Both my sites had a lower than normal CTR yesterday (one markedly lower). Both have a higher than normal CTR today. Simplest explanation is that there are just some minor glitches in the timing of Google's click reporting.

I am guessing that clicks will catch up later in the day. The CTR change is far too dramatic to stick.

My CTR dropped today/yesterday as well.

I figured it was just due to month end... and Google getting confused because I removed one of their ads from the page and replaced it with Chitika.

Every time I change "too much" on a page - my EPC hits the dirt. Same thing if I get more, or less traffic than average.

I was just assuming it was the AdSense "too much change" penalty that lasts about a week.

Is there more to it? Or just the normal riff raff?

One of our accounts has taken a 21% EPC hit this week!

It has been consistent for months and POW...not very smart pricing methinks.

Hello all, I've been reading on the forum for a long time, but I think this is probably my first post. I am an Adsense UPS club member (by direct deposit though, not UPS.) My CTR on many of my channels jumped up drastically yesterday. I mean, they jumped from somewhere in the mid-to-high teens% to more than 4 times that amount.

When I used to look at my page impressions vs. Individual Ad Units, the numbers were exactly the same. They were giving me the ad impressions numbers on both pages. Yesterday, my page impression numbers actually dropped down to where they should be, which was three times less than where it used to be, since I have 3 ads on each page. They now match what my tracker tells me. My clicks and earnings stayed the same, but my page impressions are way less, my CTR is a LOT higher, and my eCPM is also about 4 times higher than normal. It is all balancing out to make the same amount of money as it used too though. My other channels did the same thing, but just not as drastically. Did anyone else notice this change in the Page Impressions/Individual Ad Unit numbers?

What the? What's wrong with google NOW? EPC is down 60% today. 60 friggin' PERCENT! I'm so sick of google's schizophrenia. I can't wait for YPN to get better so I can leave this moronic nonsense behind completely, like a bad toothache.

Hi 7Heather

I have the exact same situation as you. It seems that the page impressions halved and CTR and eCPM doubled. I have 2 ad units per page.

As you mentioned there was no difference between page impressions and ad unit impressions in the old stats. I presume they must have fixed this.

Earnings are still around the same so I guess everything is ok? (also UPS Club)

My stats have updated and everything is looking like what I usually expect my CTR to be.

I notice a similar drop in CTR using a 728x90 when one ad is displayed within the ad box. When I switch it to a 468x60 CTR goes back to normal.

rotten - factor in a current loss of traffic due to Jagger and I'm way down from my norm. Adsense revs are low at the moment anyways - but with less traffic.
What would I get more for on the open market - one of my kidneys or one of my kids?

Jenkers - When I sold mine, I made it a package deal. eBay and call it a day.

Well my google traffic is down too. At least page views are! Uniques is up at about 2500 per day.

But although the same ads seem to be displayed as before the clickthrough has gone up by a third! So the traffic seems to be very targeted towards the ads! Instead of looking around 3 or 4 pages they just bugger off on an add! (I dont mind!) But this is strange since all my pages have large quantities of good interesting content and reviews!
