Even though I have not done anything wrong (after my son's clicking fun, which was taken care of) I am basically assuming that sometime I am going to check my google stats from too many different computers or some visitor is going to click too many ads at once and I will then receive the dreaded email.
Its like living with your head in the gillotine.
Anyone else feel the same way?
Sometimes, when i'm on some other website looking for something i'll click maybe 3 different Google ads in a row to find what i'm looking for, i don't expect the webmaster to get kicked because of it, you can't change your browsing habits because of adsense.. I never click on my own ads though. Having said that, Google pretty much made it clear they are not just terminating the accounts of people who have clicked their ads, but all sites with invalid clicks, regardless of who or what made them -- my advice is to just put the ads there, don't say anything about them to anyone and leave them alone.
One of the cool things about Adwords is the diversity of the advertisers and the low cost of entry for all sorts of businesses. This is one of the biggest differences from the good old days of doubleclick and the ton of pre-dot-com-bust banner networks.
We've been using the adsense revenue to build some new sites, license some new software, contract out some development and this will lead to other alternative revenue schemes. Invest the money (assuming that its paying for the hosting and the beers) or a part of it back into your sites and plan for a lowered CPC going into next year.
