0 Impressions but Clicks

Watching channels closely - I hate seeing this

My last G stats update threw out a figure for one of my channels which records zero impressions, but a couple clicks.

How is this achieved? If someone was copy/pasting my code on another page it would still show an impression wouldn't it?!

How can I possibly have clicks (paying clicks) without any impressions?

I'll be watching closely for the remainder of the day - so I can notify G if things start to look real ugly.

Statistical flaw, or otherwise?

you should wait at least 24 hours before you can relay on any stats

I am seeing the same thing and was coming here to make a post too! Weird!

In 24 hours a site can go from good standing to banned, or suspended. I like to be proactive when shady things appear to be happening; even if it seems excessive, or pre-mature

I think I may have found my answer in that someone in another thread says their impressions are behind about 30% but their clicks just came through.

This may be what I am experiencing as well in this channel.

Thank you PorkChop - I'm feeling relieved already.

I think there's also been some discussion in the past that AdSense does on-the-fly auditing and doesn't count certain clicks -- if someone clicked the ad and then clicked the back button a millisecond later, for example. Or if they had some evidence that the click was made by a bot.

I see 0 cent clicks from time to time. I don't worry about them.

I see non paying clicks sometimes, maybe 1 in an obscure channel or something once a month or so - but these were paying clicks, which confused me even more.

I'm relieved now knowing that impressions are running behind for some folks.

Yeh, its called "click dump".
Basicly, clicks that were generated the day before, did not register for that day and being dumped to the next.

Nothing to worry IMHO. If you see some ubnormal CTR, is when you should panic.

just my 2c.

I think impressions were posting slower than clicks today, at least for my sites. They seem to be catching up a bit now.

I had the same thing happen today. One of my sites gets almost no traffic, so when I saw a rather large $$ amount, I checked to see which site it was coming from - and it was from that site! Impressions was 2 and clicks was 5, with the $$ amount quite large. Scary stuff, that. Am hoping the impressions go up significantly, so that this doesn't end up being something that would get all my other sites banned. Sends shivers up my spine.
