Reasons Why My Content Isn’t Ranking on Google

Hi everyone! 👋

I’ve been creating original content regularly, but my pages aren’t ranking well on Google. I know writing is important, but I realized it’s not just about publishing frequently. Here are a few reasons this might happen:

No Strategic SEO: Just writing isn’t enough. You need to target the right keywords, use structured headings (H1, H2), optimize meta titles/descriptions, add internal/external links, and improve page speed.

User Signals Matter: If visitors leave quickly or don’t engage, Google may lower your ranking even if your content is unique.

Content Cannibalization: Publishing similar topics too often can make your posts compete with each other. Each post should have a unique purpose and keyword focus.

Backlinks Still Count: Google values links from authoritative websites. Without strong backlinks, even great content may go unnoticed.

In short, ranking isn’t just about writing a lot — it’s about structuring, optimizing, and distributing your content strategically.

Has anyone faced the same issues? Any tips or tools that helped you improve rankings?

Hi rabeh and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Google SEO tools is not something we discuss here as you can read in the Charter [webmasterworld.com]

There are a number of threads here discussing the problems of trying to rank today, but more and more, AIO makes sure that ranking alone won't bring you much traffic.

That welcome link above offers tips on using the forums' features and settings.

@rabeh --- glad to have you join!

Never found a "tool" that actually did more than promise snake oil with flowery descriptives. At best you get a bunch of pretty charts and lists that are more imagination than fact.

Not all content is equal, but same content in common niches is pretty homogeneous. g will pick and choose what to list and where. Add in automatizing AI and rank means nothing at all.

All of the items listed above are in the "don't do something stupid" category, not "seo" (which is a myth and largely been countered by the search engines for gaming the system). There are no magic bullets to ranking, just hard work, persistence, originality (soon to be scraped by others) and TIME. Also, reasonable expectations and outcomes.

ON THE OTHER HAND, if one has a boat load of money to throw at the issue one can BUY their way to the top (that's OLD SCHOOL SEO!). Real advertising, crowd sourcing, MLM, Madison Ave... sky is the limit!
